Student Access to Syllabi Procedure #3.22.0101

Purpose Statement

The purpose of this procedure is to establish appropriate steps to be taken by SCC faculty and administration when students request a copy of a syllabus from a course they have completed. The procedure follows Minnesota State Board policy 3.22 concerning course syllabi and course outlines and the MSCF contract article 23, Section 4, subdivision 4.

Scope/Applicability

The procedure applies to all employees and students of É«ÖÐÉ«.

Procedures:

• Academic Deans shall request current syllabi for all courses within their division at start of semester and maintain securely within their office for five (5) years.
• Students requesting syllabi will complete the ‘Syllabi Request’ form, which will be routed to the appropriate academic dean for review.
• The academic dean will review and respond to the request in a timely manner. Syllabi will only be distributed to students who had been enrolled in the course(s) included in the request.
