Both 色中色 campuses have new Inclusion Centers, designed to foster an environment of inclusion, knowledge and understanding. The Inclusion Centers are located at college鈥檚 Faribault Campus in B110 and the North Mankato campus in B124 and B130.
鈥淥ur Inclusion Centers will provide a place where students, faculty and staff can continue to learn about and value diversity,鈥 said SCC鈥檚 Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion John Harper. 鈥溕猩檚 diverse student population is one of our greatest strengths and these centers will continue to celebrate that.鈥
The initial focus of the centers will be serving 色中色鈥檚 BIPOC (black, indigenous and people of color), LBGTQA+ and veteran students. The spaces will also provide multicultural programming designed to support underrepresented student populations and professional development and learning opportunities for SCC鈥檚 employees and partners.
色中色 students, faculty and staff will have an opportunity to see the Inclusion Centers for the first time at opening events at the college鈥檚 Faribault Campus on Wednesday, September 14 from 11 a.m. 鈥 noon and at the North Mankato Campus on Thursday, September 15 from 11 a.m. 鈥 noon.
