| Description | In EMS(Emergency Medical Service) Skills, you will build the foundational knowledge and hands-on confidence needed to succeed as an NRP(Nationally Registered Paramedic). You will practice and demonstrate essential Basic Life Support skills while being introduced to advanced techniques, including patient assessment, airway management with adjuncts, IV(Intravenous) therapy, suctioning, manual defibrillator operation, intubation, medication administration, cardiac skills, and other invasive procedures. (Prerequisites: Admission into the Paramedic Program. All classes must be taken in sequence.) |

- Manage airway, ventilation, and oxygenation using basic and advanced techniques.
- Perform patient assessment and physical examination based on chief complaint and clinical presentation.
- Students will formulate a field impressions and patient management plan based on assessment findings.
- Establish vascular access using appropriate technique and infection control principles.
- Administer parenteral medications safely and accurately in accordance with established protocols.
- Operate cardiac monitoring and defibrillation equipment to manage cardiac emergencies.
- Apply infection control and public health principles in patient care and EMS operations.
- Perform safe and effective psychomotor skills in simulated and clinical environments.
- Communicate patient information using accepted EMS(Emergency Medical Service) communication formats.
