Description This course is designed as an introduction to body structure and function. An emphasis will be placed on body systems specifically related to paramedicine and how that knowledge can be applied to EMS care.

Prerequisite: Admission into the Paramedic Program. All Classes must be taken in sequence.

  1. Examine real world scenarios for the assessment and management of emergency patients.
  2. Integrate the physiological, psychological, and sociological changes throughout human development with assessment and communication strategies for patients of all ages.
  3. Integrates knowledge of pathophysiology of major human systems.
  4. Differentiate between different pathophysiological systems and relationships when treating patients.
  5. Identify foundational human anatomy and physiology knowledge that is required for the paramedic profession.
