This seminar will examine the questions and documents that established the path to United States citizenship. This will be highlighted through a study starting with the Citizenship Act of 1790, why the policies were changed in the 1920s, and again during the 1960s.

This program will be conducted as a discussion, utilizing as the only readings with Professor Monroe facilitating the conversation instead of lecturing. Registrants are highly encouraged to read all the documents in advance and come ready with questions.
