John Moser is professor of history and chair of both the Department of History and Political Science and the Master of Arts in American History and Government at Ashland University. He did his undergraduate work at Ohio University, and has an M.A. and Ph.D. in history from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He has published numerous works on subjects ranging from comic books to Japanese foreign policy. He is author of five books, including聽(Routledge 2015),聽聽(New York University Press 2005), and聽聽(New York University Press 1999). He has also published several role-playing games in the Reacting to the Past series, including , , and (the latter co-authored with Nicolas Proctor). In 2016 he was winner of Ashland University’s Edward and Louaine Taylor Excellence in Teaching Award, and he was the recipient of the university’s Excellence in Scholarship Award in 2022.
John lives in Ashland with his wife, Monica, their daughter, Stanzi, and their two dogs.
